How we check
Mars in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house gives Manglik dosh. We check it from your Lagna (the main reference) and from your Moon. From the Lagna it is cancelled when Mars is in its own sign (Aries, Scorpio) or exalted (Capricorn), or when Jupiter is with Mars or aspects it.

What is Manglik dosh?
When Mars sits in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house, it is called Manglik or Mangal dosh. Mars is the planet of energy and drive; in these houses it is believed to bring friction into married life.
Does Manglik dosh end at the age of 28?
That is a popular belief, not a rule in the classical texts. Mars is said to mature around 28, so its heat softens with age — but the placement in your chart stays. The cancellation rules matter more.
